Knitted logo socks, crew, ankle and athletic styles with custom colors, cuffs and retail packaging.

Socks are one of the easiest ways to put your brand on customers every day. They make great add-on items, gifts, event merch, and subscription products, and they are small enough to ship cheaply. As a custom socks manufacturer, MAKEWELL APPAREL produces knitted logo socks, crew and ankle socks, athletic and compression socks, and dress socks with your designs, colors, and packaging.
Unlike printed garments, most custom socks are knitted, which means your logo and pattern are built into the fabric itself. The result is a durable, premium finish that will not crack or fade. We work with apparel and streetwear brands, sports teams and clubs, gyms, companies ordering corporate gifts, events, and retailers developing private label socks.
Each style can be customized in length, cushioning zones, cuff height, and toe and heel colors.
Yarn choice defines comfort, breathability, and durability. We offer combed cotton for everyday comfort, merino wool for warmth and odor control, bamboo-viscose for softness, nylon for strength and stretch recovery, and polyester or coolmax-type yarns for moisture-wicking athletic socks. Most socks blend a main fiber with nylon and elastane so they hold their shape.
We recommend blends based on how and where your socks will be worn. See our fabric selection guide for more on fibers.
Knitted designs are created by programming your artwork into the knitting machine, so each color becomes a yarn. Clean, bold logos and patterns with a limited color palette knit best, typically up to five or six colors per design. Very fine lines and gradients are simplified to suit the knit grid.
For full-color photographic designs, we also offer sublimation-printed socks on polyester. Our team converts your artwork into a knit file and sends a digital mock-up for approval before sampling.
Performance features make athletic socks worth paying more for. We offer terry cushioning in the sole, heel, and toe; arch compression bands for support; mesh ventilation zones; seamless or hand-linked toes to prevent rubbing; and Y-heels for a secure fit. Cuffs can be ribbed, comfort-top, or reinforced to stay up during sport.
Sizes typically follow shoe-size ranges such as S, M, L, and XL, with kids sizes available.
Socks sell on presentation. We offer custom paper header cards, wrap-around sleeves, printed boxes for gift sets, hang tags with hooks for retail pegs, and multi-pack bands. Barcodes and size stickers can be added for retailers. See our custom apparel packaging and labels and hang tags pages for options.
Gift boxes with three or four pairs are a popular format for holidays and corporate gifts.
For fashion and streetwear brands, socks are a high-margin add-on that increases average order value. Matching socks to your seasonal colors and graphics keeps collections cohesive. Bundle them with underwear and undershirts for an essentials range, or with activewear for training collections.
We check knit density, color accuracy, logo clarity, sizing, toe seams, and elastic recovery against your approved sample. Socks are wash-tested for shrinkage and color fastness, and every pair is inspected before packing.
Custom socks follow a clear development path. First, you share your logo or design idea along with the sock length, colors, and features you want. Our team converts the artwork into a knit file, matching your colors to available yarns, and sends a flat mock-up showing exactly how the design will appear on the leg, foot, and cuff.
Once you approve the mock-up, we knit a physical sample so you can check colors, logo clarity, fit, and comfort. Small adjustments, such as moving a logo higher on the cuff or thickening the sole cushioning, are made at this stage. After approval, bulk production begins, followed by inspection, pairing, labeling, and packaging.
Approved designs and yarn specifications are saved, so reordering a bestselling sock is quick and the colors match the previous run. Many brands start with one or two designs and add seasonal colorways once the core style proves popular.

Because socks are knitted from yarn on dedicated machines, minimums depend on the design and yarn colors. We confirm the minimum per design in your quote, and stock yarn colors keep minimums lower than custom-dyed yarns. Samples usually take 7 to 10 business days after artwork approval, and bulk production typically takes 2 to 4 weeks.
